 The Gospel

A cosmos imagined, from chaos coalesced,
on nothing God hung His bright world.
Terra-firma emerges, a home for His image,
from dust a man-kind is unfurled.

Senses awakened, not alone in the garden.
of his maker new-man has no doubt.
Then sin brings a shroud, separation ensues,
for God, man looks up and looks out.

New every morning, God’s merciful love
sends His Son as full payment for sin.
Emanuel here, heaven brought near,
our Maker, looks down and looks in.

Cosmos reimagined, from chaos restored,
new heaven, new earth in the wings.
The darkness rolled back, relations restored,
new life through redemption light springs.
