Note to self:

Note to self:

Practice what you profess; Don't promote what you protest.
My praxis must pair with my profession.

I profess I am against injustice. No one can believe I am against injustice if while protesting injustice I am practicing injustice. To practice injustice is to promote injustice.

I profess I am against discrimination. Who could believe I am against discrimination if while protesting discrimination I am practicing discrimination. Practicing discrimination just promotes discrimination.

I profess equal treatment and equal opportunities for all. No one will believe I am for treating all men equal if while protesting inequality I am practicing inequality. Practicing inequality promotes inequality.

I profess that I abhor senseless violence against innocent people. I can’t expect anyone to believe I am against senseless violence against innocent people if while protesting senseless violence against innocent people I am participating in or condoning senseless violence against innocent people. Practicing or condoning violence against others invites senseless violence against me; it contravenes my cause, harms innocent people, and makes me guilty of the very acts I am protesting.

I profess that I disdain a man being judged or condemned based solely on his appearance. No one can believe I am opposed to judging a man based solely on his appearance if while protesting any man being judged based solely on his appearance I am practicing the condemnation of a man based solely on his appearance. Participating in judging a man based solely on his appearance promotes judging all men based solely on their appearance.

I profess adherence to the truth. No one can believe I am against lies and deception if while protesting lies and deception I am practicing, or patronizing the purveyors of lies and deception. Patronizing deception makes me party to deceit and promotes falsehood.

4.      "If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again.

6.      "You shall not pervert the judgment of your poor in his dispute.

7.      Keep yourself far from a false matter; do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked.

8.      And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the discerning and perverts the words of the righteous.

9.      Also you shall not oppress a stranger, for you know the heart of a stranger, because you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Leviticus 19:9-18 (NASB)

'Now when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest. 'Nor shall you glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the needy and for the stranger. I am the LORD your God.

'You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another. 'You shall not swear falsely by My name, so as to profane the name of your God; I am the LORD.

'You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired man are not to remain with you all night until morning. 'You shall not curse a deaf man, nor place a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall revere your God; I am the LORD.

'You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly. 'You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor; I am the LORD.

'You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may surely reprove your neighbor, but shall not incur sin because of him. 'You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD.
